I made it safely home from Central Asia last night. Sadly, my luggage did not join me. Pray with me that it arrives in the next day or two.

I like this definition, especially the words 'total trust' as I think everything pivots on having our trust in the right place. How do the words 'total trust' sit with you?

A bishop in Florida spoke on trust and used an expression I will never forget. He said, "Your trust is in whatever you have set up as your safety net."

He went on to say that most people use money as a safety net. It explains why the author of Hebrews urges us to keep our lives free from the love of money.

You might say, "I don't love money, Gary." This ancient idea must be understood in this way. You 'love money' if you think you need it to survive.

Jesus wants you to 'love Him' because He's all you need to survive. Money is to be stewarded according to His instructions as it aims to trick you to serve it.

Rodin explains in the book that we only locate this freedom and holy contentment as we live out these truths. And he adds that it is not easy but marks the way to life.
